New music: Grimes: Fragments of the future

Montreal Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, is, according to his label, influenced by "R & B, industrial, goth, hip hop and Western medieval organum" and references Salem, Mariah Carey, Gang Gang Dance and the Smiths. In reality, it seems nothing like one of these artists and genres are mixed in such a way that if it touches any of them, then it is so fleeting that to be almost instantly forgotten (we are not yet certain what "Western medieval organum" is). The music of Grimes is described as bizarre pop, with unique Vanessa recently a good example. Altered areas has just posted a new mixtape butcher, from Fragments of the future, a magnificent washing of piano, synthesizer and vocals contortions. On the first listening, it is quite mild - but it is magical in its minimalism.
