Friendly Fires: Pala - review

Horns - the authors of the new rave - are at a standstill. Math-rave outfit foals, meanwhile, did not the leap from the pages of NME torrid arenas. This summer, it is like Metronomy and easy strip lights to lead the dance. Named after an island in a novel by Aldous Huxley, second friendly fire album is amorphous and propulsive listening. Ed Macfarlane song can locate this trio in a tradition of Saint-Albans indie soaring, but the trio of dynamic euphoric rave master's and a generous offer to harass the air make the prospect of a wet utopia seem more than a distant possibility.
